DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Had noise comping from furnace, repair man "blackie" (alias?) changed thermostat... He said "cycled unit after 10 minutes, no noise" paid $190.25 Couple hours later noise came back and furnace stopped the next day he oiled a draft motor and said it may need a new one. Went out again!!! Asked for an est. he said 200-400 plus labor nothing in writing. Said the furnace is junk too! Contacted company owner Jimmy, asked for exact draft motor cost and some credit from previous repair and he just laughed! Good thing I didn't have them put in draft motor that was not even the problem!!! Had someone else out, they replaced correct part and it works fine! Noise was coming from gas valve not being fully engaged due to poor connections of a relay coming from hot surface igniter which was replaced. Cost $60 and the oiling of the draft motor was done wrong too, they needed to access the oil tubes to fill not the outside of the bearing! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Man I don't pick on businesses very often but today a great friend was rousted by McDonald Mechanical, LLC. She has a boiler that needed a control unit. the first visit they did not have part ...fine . It took several days to return with part ....wrong part! ....Back to office and a few more days ...this time two guys come back ...oh my wrong part ...darn .....back to shop ...a few more days ....well today they brought another unit and it worked ...great ...the RUB. She was charged for every trip ....yep sure was her fault. Plus the trainee that came along one trip was charged as an additional charge for the pleasure of his company ....when she suggested that was not fair ...well she was told tough luck .......!!! SO my take is they saw a WOMAN and an chance to make a little more profit. I don't think I would ever recommend them to anyone especially a single woman. IN our small town we should help one another ... This is the way I heard the story ... the IDEA I would not call them again is mine ...you can do as you like but just thought it was worth a rant. And people wonder why we have fewer and fewer hometown repair persons.
My parents own this establishment and it saddens me to see such terrible reviews. 2 out of 5? Really people? I whole heartily would say 5 out of 5. My parents are hardworking, passionate Americans who love this town and have worked hard these last 18 years to make sure their family was taken care of. We are just ordinary people trying to make it in this world. If you have complaints or you think we overcharged you, take it up with us. Don't post it online where we can't see it. Talk to us so we can make your experience with us a pleasant one, and hopefully you'll use or recommend our company again in the future. If you want homegrown, caliber, and quality work choose McDonald. Thank you and God bless.
