Catfish- beyond amazing! The menu is quite nice, and gives everyone-of all appetites, a wide selection to eat. Newspapers are available for free, how nice! The dam makes a beautiful view, and even gives photographers a gorgeous photo to take. Go out back with your little ones, and you will find old cars. They are quite clean, and gives you and even them something to do when waiting for your meal. Speaking of which- the wait is not long AT ALL!! Limos and catering are available... One complaint- PUT A FENCE AROUND THE AREA WHERE THE DAM IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A POOR OLD PERSON COULD EASILY FALL AND GET KILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really can't believe there's people on here putting this place down...... this place is very historic!! I used to work here and I loved every second of it. The Waitresses are very very very friendly and very very very nice and always have a smile on their face and LOVE THEIR JOBS!! This place has a very unique vibe to it, a very unique feel, and a very unique atmosphere that cannot be duplicated no matter how hard anybody tries to. The food here is very special and always one of a kind. There is nothing like it on this planet Earth and there will never be anything like it. Every time I return to "Oakdale" it brings back a very special nostalgia of years past and the COUNTLESS fun times I've had there with family and friends. When I walk in that front door and take one big whiff I know where I am at and I know it's going to be fun and I absolutely positively know I will always have a great time and excellent food. Thank you Ron, Leslie, and the crew for keeping this place alive and running!!!!!!! Easily one of my most favorite places that I've ever been in my whole entire life.... and that's saying ALOT.
If you want to experience something different then it's worth the trip! Views of the dam and great food. It's a nice gathering or just lets go for two! Great choice of drinks, service good and over all A+++
A family member and I decided to give this place a try after recommendations from friends. Even on Saturday, this place was busy. That's a good sign. Right off, we noticed the attentiveness of the staff who obviously pride themselves on great service. We ordered the catfish and bluegill. Both seemed fresh and neither was overly breaded or greasy.
The best smelt on the planet. Excellent service excellent food. Love the place. Relaxed environment. Make the trip!!!!
